A New Dawn for Open-Source Ad Tech
Control, transparency and choice are all ideas that publishers have been chasing in ad tech for years. Publishers want liberation from lock-in and single company dominance, and it’s finally starting to feel within reach.
BidOn was built around that goal: to give publishers genuine freedom to run their monetization their way with an open-source, non-profit, universal SDK. This vision is now moving up a gear, with an expanded team across the board, from engineering to leadership. We’ve welcomed a powerhouse group of experienced ad tech vets to guide the next stage of BidOn’s growth.

A Hands-On Team, Open To Everyone
BidOn’s new in-house development team is already working directly with publishers to develop and refine open-source monetization tools. This isn’t an external service; the team is part of the foundation itself. BidOn is a community-driven effort, and this collaboration and support grows with active participation and contribution from the community! With the right support our team brings grassroots muscle, ensuring continuous product evolution and hands-on support whilst lowering adoption barriers and experimentation risks.
Alongside them, our board of governors brings together respected industry titans, from Kenneth Wong (Scopely) to Phil Suh (Zynga), Charlie Castell (PubRev+), Vincent Tessier (52 Entertainment), Nolan Fox (ParshipMeet Group) and Vincent Février (TapNation). Read more about our board here. Their understanding of the practical realities of ad monetization is overwhelming and they bring these perspectives to help guide our direction and priorities in real time - straight into how BidOn grows!
Neutral By Design
Our nonprofit, open-source model, with multi-donor funding is not bound to shareholders or commercial interests. Every donation is reinvested into the core; open-source development, documentation or education initiatives. This sort of neutrality matters to keep our project focused on shared progress and improving our tools.
In 2026, we’re building out community resources to make mobile ad tech fairer, clearer and, ultimately, easier to navigate. From expanded SDK documentation to new educational content, it’s all a part of making open source more practical and accessible for publishers worldwide.
Your Stack, Your Rules
We’re continuing to evolve as a true non-profit foundation under the guidance of Fernando Granata and Andy Ulery. It’s about maintaining independence, sharing knowledge and strengthening an ecosystem where open infrastructure supports everyone’s success.
For publishers, developers and partners, this is an open invite to take part. Browse the code on GitHub, join discussions and suggest new integrations. Or, simply explore what open monetization can look like when everyone is welcome to build!
This is the next step in fairness for open-source ad tech.
Join our liberation movement, with equality of access, no gatekeepers and freedom from mediation control. Empower yourself to choose!
